Starters
The Lead Starter operates the “plunger”—a button connected to the timer that is pushed when an athlete crosses the start gate. The Assistant Timer provides aid (e.g. in cases where an athlete is missing from the start order).
What equipment do I need for the Nordic programs?

Freeride Equipment Requirements
Freeride Team members are required to have certain equipment including, but not limited to, a ski helmet, back protector, and avalanche backpack.
Where do the Nordic teams meet for training?
The default meeting location for the Club Team is the Big Sky Nordic Center. The meeting locations for the Development Team and Competition Team will be posted daily to TeamReach.
What are the U.S. Ski & Snowboard classifications?

Download the TeamReach app. Get the appropriate team code (Club, Devo, or Comp) from the Nordic head coach.
Do we have to attend all scheduled races or competitions?
No. There are a number of local races and travel races. You should just come to whichever you want. If you don’t want to do any competition but still come to all the trainings that is more than ok! The travel races are in cool places, and a great way to bond with the team.[…]
Who was Lars Ericson?
Lars Ericson (1948-2018) was a long-time friend and supporter of the Big Sky Ski Education Foundation who volunteered countless hours on the mountain as a perpetual member of the race crew. The Lars Ericson Program Scholarship Fund was established in 2021 in remembrance.
