U14 Head Coach
Full-time seasonal, November 1, 2024 – May 1, 2025
Job Salary: DOE
The U14 Head Coach will mentor and coach participants in the Buddy Werner U14 program of the Big Sky Ski Education Foundation (BSSEF) in an effective and enthusiastic manner that helps the participants set and achieve goals in advanced skiing technique and competition.
Major tasks and responsibilities include:
- Have input on daily race training for athletes in conjunction with BSSEF yearly plan
- Help send weekly videos to athletes/manage video account
- Help create and implement yearly plan in conjunction with BSSEF yearly plan
- Set and/or supervise the setting and maintenance of training courses
- Ensure a safe and effective training environment in conjunction with US ski & Snowboard standards and BSSEF best practices
- Know and meet the Responsibilities and Expectations as detailed in the BSSEF Handbook, Coaches Manual, and all applicable Big Sky Resort rules and policies.
- Provide input to Program Director on U14 program coach performance for mid- and post-season evaluations.
- Help provide lesson planning for training sessions
- Work to ensure athlete retention
- Report to and work to support the BSSEF Program Director
- Participate in meetings, briefings and other professional functions as directed by the Program Director
- Work to inspire a life-long enjoyment in the sport of skiing
Requirements:
- Advanced level skiing skills
- USSA Level 100 or higher
- Must have the ability to lift, carry, ski and load chairlift with up to 75 lbs., ski all terrain on mountain comfortably, work on uneven terrain in frequent inclement weather, and withstand physical exertion at elevations higher than 11,000 feet
- The ability to work with racing equipment, including but not limited to drills and gate wrenches, digital video equipment, timing equipment and alpine skiing equipment highly recommended
- Experience in ski tuning, boot modification, and related equipment
U10/U12 Head Coach

Slopestyle Coach
This season BSSEF is starting a junior slopestyle team. Our coaching staff will help build this program
and develop training plans related to the USASA framework. We are looking for both supporting coaches
as well as a head coach. Our staff will help prepare athletes ages 11 – 18 for USASA sanctioned
competitions in our region. The program will be based on the judging categories of Slopestyle: Amplitude,
Trick Difficulty, Execution, Variation, Style and Combination. The team will primarily train in the Swifty
Parks, but will venture off piste when appropriate.
