The ‘Keep Big Sky Green’ initiative has permanently taken over from BSSEF’s traditional fireworks sales fundraiser, once a major source of the team’s funds. Following a suspension of the fundraiser in 2020 due to the pandemic and severe drought conditions, the BSSEF board decided two years later to cease fireworks sales permanently for the safety of the Big Sky community, considering the wildfire risks associated with fireworks. The goal of ‘Keep Big Sky Green’ is to make up for the fundraising shortfall while prioritizing wildfire prevention.
