- [Freeride Program](https://bssef.com/product/freeride-program/) - Program Overview The Freeride program prepares skiers and snowboarders (ages 11–18 as of December 31) for big-mountain competition under the International Freeskiers Association (IFSA). Participants must already ride most of Lone Mountain safely and confidently. First-year athletes must complete the initial sessions and obtain approval from the Freeride head coach to continue. Training is structured around IFSA judging criteria, including line, control, technique, fluidity, style, and energy. See “Freeride Equipment Requirements” in the FAQs for a complete gear list. Athletes will learn foundational ski/snowboard techniques, air awareness and trick progressions, risk vs. reward tactics and terrain assessment, and avalanche safety. Training options include 1 day per week, 2 days per week (midweek or weekend), 4 days per week, and a 1 day per week park option. All options include the Christmas Camp from December 26-31, 2026. The Buddy Werner U10 - U12 program is for athletes ages 8 to 11 (as of December 31st) who are interested in developing their Alpine ski racing and freeskiing skills. Included in the base program fee: Training on Saturday and Sunday; team jacket lease for the season; and the Christmas Camp. Through a mix of free-skiing, obstacle courses, games, drills, and gate training, the program cultivates well-rounded skiing skills and inspires a lifelong passion for the sport.
